On Patronizing-y Crap

Some male individuals seem to have an urge to try to help any female individual handling electronics or any equipment they're not "supposed" to.

Today, I went to plug in an extension cord but had to remove some twist ties first. I don't think I looked like I had any difficulty with it, but the instant I went to untwist the ties, a dude asks, "Can I help you with that?" I replied with a nice, "Nah, I'm good." That was all I needed.

It's only a minor annoyance for me; to me it's not that oh-so-subtly obnoxious sexism like, say, a hilarious joke about how women's voices are annoying to listen to. Or if he had persisted in trying to help me, for that matter. But someone else might be more bothered and it would be understandable (because they deal with it on a regular basis or whatever).

Just because I'm a small girl doesn't mean I automatically need your help with cords or what have you. I'd ask if I did. Sure, there's much worse sexism out there (and yes, I do think it's sexism), but the niggly little things are worth pointing out.

For me, I get super ticked off when guys assume I'm mad because I'm PMSing. WHATTHEHECK.
But yes, it also ticks me off when they think you're helpless. Grrr

We don't think you're helpless; we think you're stupid and more often than not, we have been proved right!

Believe me, your daily bitchiness and monthly emotional swings and overall moodiness are far more annoying than some poory guy just offering a hand...Ever think that maybe he digs you and was looking for an excuse to talk to you and then maybe make his move ?!? You freakin' American women are a trip, the worst type of bad LSD trip. Just shut the feck up and leave those poor Yank guys alone for once in your lives!!!

I decided to let this comment in for its sheer ridiculousness.
